From different world sides…

At the Asian eskimos of a tattoo served as the standard ornament. They were put to girls till a marriage, reached a sexual maturity. With the medical purpose the tattoo is put here both to men, and women on sore points. So, at nervous diseases patterns in the form of little men are put on a forehead above eyebrowes. The central eskimos put тату on a chin, cheeks, a forehead individual, faltering lines. Here it had magic sense. The most widespread motive of a tattoo was Y – the figurative figure treated as a tail of a whale and connected with the special, divine attitude to them.

At representatives Finno - Ugorian nationalities social value of a tattoo is not absolutely clear. Тату here, however, as well as everywhere earlier, was exclusively female art. The tattoo always remained the secret woman. They hid value of figure even from close relatives.
